Happy New Year

shading schemes for Skystone Armwarmers explored in my bullet journaling using drawings/tracing and colouring-in

I’m in that funny space (maybe you are too?) where all the festive stuff is over; the VAT return and other annual business-related admin duties call; and I’m meant to be getting back to work but am not yet feeling ready. As is usual at such times, I’m turning to my KNITSONIK Bullet Journal for support.

Not ever for aspirational NEW YEAR/NEW ME reasons, but because here in my pages of messy and human lists, notes, scribblings and creativity, I can usually find my way back to what I am meant to be doing… Sometimes my journal is also where I work out what that is.

If you are a fellow journal enthusiast or want to find out more about KNITSONIK Bullet Journaling, I’m thrilled to share that I’m doing a special Journaling Zoom session with the lovely folks at Modern Daily Knitting (MDK) on January 11th. Find all the details here.

IF IN DOUBT MAKE A RAINBOW - text in a rainbow heart

When I put together KNITSONIK Bullet Journaling in 2020 in the midst of the pandemic, I never thought so many of you would appreciate my focus on self-care; or that my deliberately messy and imperfectionist approach would resonate so hard. Yet every month, I hear from those of you who have used the course to found more joy in playing with your stationery, to unstick your creative projects, or to make challenging tasks feel more fun and less overwhelming.

The SUPER Stamp

After launching it, I was blown away to read several wonderful pieces about the course over on the MDK site; that kind of support is massive and so appreciated. Three years after taking the course, I’m told that the ideas are still referenced in the MDK office; that honestly means so much to hear. Massive thanks to Kay and Ann for your amazing support for KNITSONIK Bullet Journaling, and also to Max for this review which describes the course as having sparked “a bonfire of joy” re: Bullet Journaling. This is my favourite description ever and it cheers me up so much on rubbish days.

I’m really happy to have embarked on my first professional affiliate relationship with MDK, and if you want to sign up for the course, please pop over to their site to read Kay’s review; to find out how to get 10% off; to learn about how to join the Zoom session on the 11th and to sign up via their affiliate link.

It’s funny looking at the course today and seeing LONG HAIR Felix, but there I am in my old studio, sharing the joys of messy and imperfectionist Bullet Journaling – ideas standing me in good stead today, as I face into the pile of admin, the reluctance to return to work after the holidays, and the planning of A NEW KNITSONIK COURSE.

One more thing to tell you: the Everyday Colour posts I did for the Colour Compass Advent Calendar now have their own permanent home here at KNITSONIK.COM.
