Just popping in to let you know that my dear friend Brenda interviewed me for her wonderful Cast On podcast and you can hear us talking about KNITSONIK & Friends: Colour to Knit here. I’ve been listening to Brenda’s podcast for years; her soothing voice, mischievous sense of humour and infinite curiosity have kept my company on many long drives, train journeys, walks, and times when I was up late working on things that didn’t involve writing! Best of all, because of the podcast, over the years we have become friends and it’s something I value more than I can say. It’s always a pleasure to be part of an episode. Thanks for having me on Cast On, and asking me about the new KNITSONIK & Friends: Colour to Knit eBook, Brenda!

I’m so happy that the amazing podcast Brenda founded back in 2005 continues on today. In the shifting online landscape there is something very comforting about knowing that Brenda is still knitting amazing things; pondering issues of sustainability and clothing; messing with other people’s patterns; and sharing news from the Wales and the valley in which she and Tonia have lived for many years. The whole back catalogue of Cast On is here and the new, more recent editions of the podcast are here. Best of all, for those of you who love Brenda’s podcast as much as I do, there is now a practical way to support its production by becoming a Patron.

I also noticed a new column by Brenda in Knitty Magazine today – another online institution for whose sustained presence in KNITWERLD I am continually grateful! Happy 20th Birthday, Knitty, and congratulations on your new Changing Clothes column, Brenda! I love the byline – “Brenda Dayne has never met a knitting pattern she hasn’t altered to suit her own particular tastes” – that’s one of many reasons why we love you x

I must get back to packing for Shetland Wool Week (W00t!), but maybe in the next week or so I’ll perform the time-honoured ritual of picking what to knit next from the new edition of Knitty
