As part of my forthcoming adventures in the USA, I’ll be visiting yarn stores in the Bay Area and doing two book signing events on Saturday 7th July. At each event I will give a short, informal talk about my work, and bring some samples of my work for you to see. I’ll also bring my special turbo pen and stamp for signing your books.
I really hope to see some of you there. Here are the details:
Saturday 7th July
12.30 – 13:30 at A Verb For Keeping Warm
6328 San Pablo Avenue
Oakland
California
94608
16:00 – 18:00 at Avenue Yarns
1325 Solano Avenue (between Pomona Avenue and Ramona Avenue)
Albany
California
94706
Both shops will be stocking copies of all three KNITSONIK tomes. If you live in the Bay Area, would like to buy copies of any of my books, and do not want to pay shipping charges, this is your chance! Enormous thanks to A Verb For Keeping Warm and Avenue Yarns for agreeing to host me, and for stocking KNITSONIK. I can’t wait to meet you on the Californian yarn crawl of dreams.
Oooh, I visited both Avenue and AVFKW today, and I was going to drop you a note about my excitement that they’re carrying your books! Now I’m even more excited — and hope I can make it back over there.
During your SF/Bay Area travels, I hope you will hear and see one of the flocks of feral parrots (green headed conures). In SF, they like the palm trees along the Embarcadero; the steps up Potrero Hill; the area around Sts. Peter and Paul; and other areas. There are at least 2 flocks in Palo Alto, and 2 in Sunnyvale.
All are descended from escapee pet conures. Meet up, have babies, thrive in the Bay Area especially near palm trees.
Yes!!! Thanks ahead of time for coming out to the US, love it. Not sure which day I can come out and join you but for sure one of the days. Am a huge fan of your blog and sound work and am just thrilled. See YOU soon! Sharon
I wish I could be there! I’m a huge fan and I’m so excited for your knit camp adventure. They couldn’t have picked a more worthy person for the scholarship. I hope you have a joyous trip.
The US is deeply divided politically right now and many of us are ashamed of the actions of our government, being done in our names and with our tax funds. I’m sure you’ll see and hear evidence of this during your time here. Despite the horrifying policies being carried out by the current president, Americans are loving and caring people. I hope this is your experience with everyone you meet!
Oh, how I wish you were coming to LA!! <3
